SCULPTRA LONDON

Sculptra® London Regenerative Aesthetics

Sculptra Treatment London

Collagen stimulation for gradual, natural-looking facial rejuvenation.

Sculptra® is an injectable collagen biostimulator designed to gradually restore facial support, improve volume loss and strengthen the underlying structure of the skin.

Unlike traditional dermal fillers, Sculptra works by stimulating your own collagen production. Results develop progressively over the following weeks and months, making it particularly suited to patients who want subtle rejuvenation without an obviously “filled” appearance.

At NAR LONDON on Harley Street, Sculptra is used as part of our personalised approach to regenerative aesthetics, with treatment planned around your facial anatomy, skin quality and natural proportions.

What Is Sculptra?

Sculptra is an injectable collagen biostimulator made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible and biodegradable material that has been used in medicine for many years.

Rather than simply placing volume beneath the skin, Sculptra stimulates the body’s own collagen production within the treated tissues.

As new collagen develops, it can gradually improve facial support, volume and firmness. The result is not designed to appear overnight. It develops progressively, helping the face look refreshed while preserving your natural features.

How Does Sculptra Work?

Facial ageing involves much more than the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Over time, collagen production declines and changes occur in the skin, facial fat, supporting tissues and underlying bone. This can lead to flatter cheeks, hollowing, reduced firmness and changes in facial contour.

Sculptra is injected into carefully selected areas where additional structural support is required. Its poly-L-lactic acid particles stimulate a tissue response that encourages new collagen formation. The PLLA is gradually broken down by the body while the newly formed collagen provides longer-term support within the treated area.

The process takes time. Initial fullness from the fluid used during treatment settles within the first few days. Collagen stimulation then develops progressively over the following weeks and months.

What Can Sculptra Improve?

Sculptra may be considered for:

  • Facial volume loss
  • Flattening or loss of support through the cheeks
  • Hollowing in suitable areas of the face
  • Reduced skin firmness
  • Changes in facial contour
  • Early facial laxity
  • Structural changes through the mid and lower face
  • Facial volume changes following weight loss

Rather than treating every line individually, Sculptra allows us to consider the overall structure of the face. The areas treated and amount of product required will depend on your individual anatomy and degree of volume loss.

Who Is Sculptra Suitable For?

Sculptra may be suitable for adults beginning to notice facial volume loss, reduced firmness or changes in facial structure who would prefer a gradual approach to rejuvenation.

It may be particularly appropriate if you:

  • Want subtle rather than dramatic change
  • Are noticing loss of facial support or volume
  • Prefer a collagen-stimulating approach
  • Want to improve broader facial ageing rather than one isolated line
  • Do not want an overfilled appearance
  • Have experienced facial volume changes following weight loss

Sculptra is not suitable for everyone. Your medical history, previous aesthetic treatments, facial anatomy and treatment goals will be assessed during consultation before treatment is recommended.

Benefits of Sculptra

Stimulates Your Own Collagen

Sculptra works by encouraging collagen formation within the treated tissues rather than relying solely on the volume of an injected gel.

Gradual, Natural-Looking Results

Changes develop progressively. This makes Sculptra particularly appealing to patients who want facial rejuvenation without a sudden or obvious transformation.

Restores Facial Support

Sculptra can help address broader changes in facial structure and volume that develop with age.

Improves Skin Firmness

The increase in collagen can also contribute to improved firmness and tissue quality in appropriately treated areas.

Long-Lasting

Results can remain noticeable for more than two years in some patients, although longevity varies from person to person.

What Happens During a Sculptra Treatment?

Your appointment begins with a detailed assessment of your face.

We look at facial proportions, volume distribution, skin quality, areas of structural change and any previous injectable treatments before deciding where treatment may be beneficial.

Sculptra is then administered into carefully selected areas and tissue planes according to your individual treatment plan.

The procedure usually takes approximately 30-45 minutes.

Some swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising can occur following treatment. You will receive personalised aftercare instructions before leaving the clinic.

Sculptra Results

Sculptra is designed to work gradually.

Immediately after treatment, you may notice some additional fullness. Much of this is caused by the fluid used to prepare and administer the product and will reduce over the following days. The collagen-stimulating effect develops more slowly. Changes generally become increasingly noticeable over the following weeks and continue to develop over several months as new collagen forms within the treated tissues.

For many patients, this gradual progression is one of the main attractions of Sculptra. The aim is for you to look refreshed and better supported, rather than obviously treated.

How Many Sculptra Sessions Will I Need?

There is no single treatment protocol appropriate for every face. A course of approximately three treatment sessions over several months is commonly used, although some patients may require fewer or additional treatments.

Your recommended course will depend on factors including:

  • Your age
  • Facial anatomy
  • Degree of volume loss
  • Areas being treated
  • Amount of product required
  • Previous treatments
  • Desired outcome

At NAR LONDON, we prefer to build the result progressively rather than attempting to overcorrect the face in one treatment.

FAQS SCULPTRA

Is Sculptra a dermal filler?

Sculptra is an injectable treatment, but it works differently from a traditional hyaluronic acid dermal filler.

Dermal fillers create volume primarily through the physical presence of an injectable gel.

Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid and works mainly by stimulating your own collagen production. The resulting changes therefore develop progressively rather than appearing immediately.

What is the difference between Sculptra and dermal fillers?

The main difference is how the result is created.

Hyaluronic acid fillers can provide immediate volume and are particularly useful when precise contouring or correction of a specific area is required.

Sculptra is a collagen biostimulator. It is generally used when gradual collagen stimulation and broader improvement in facial support are the objective.

Neither treatment is inherently better. The appropriate option depends on your anatomy, the type of volume loss present and the result you want to achieve.

When will I see Sculptra results?

Sculptra does not produce its final result immediately. After the temporary post-treatment fullness settles, collagen production develops gradually. Most patients begin to notice progressive changes over the following weeks, with improvement continuing over several months.

How long does Sculptra last?

Results can remain noticeable for more than two years in some patients. How long your result lasts will depend on your age, baseline tissue quality, treatment plan, lifestyle and individual response.

How many Sculptra treatments do I need?

Approximately three treatment sessions over several months are commonly recommended, although treatment should always be individualised.

Some patients may need fewer treatments, while others with more significant volume loss may require a different approach.

Does Sculptra make your face look bigger?

That is not the objective.

Sculptra can gradually restore support and volume where these have been lost. Careful product placement and treatment planning are therefore important.

At NAR LONDON, the aim is to maintain natural facial proportions rather than create unnecessary volume.

Is Sculptra suitable after weight loss?

Potentially.

Sculptra can be considered when weight loss has resulted in facial hollowing or reduced structural support. However, weight loss can affect facial fat, skin laxity and facial proportions differently in every patient.

Changes in facial appearance can become particularly noticeable following significant weight loss. Loss of facial fat may reveal hollowing, reduced cheek support, changes in facial contour and increased skin laxity. In suitable patients, Sculptra can be used to gradually restore some of this lost structural support by stimulating collagen within selected areas. However, the objective is not simply to replace every area of lost volume.

Facial proportions, remaining fat distribution, skin quality and the degree of laxity all need to be considered before deciding whether Sculptra is appropriate.

What is the difference between Sculptra and Profhilo?

Sculptra and Profhilo® have different purposes.

Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid and is primarily used to stimulate collagen and improve facial structural support.

Profhilo contains hyaluronic acid and is used primarily to improve skin hydration, elasticity and overall skin quality rather than to restore significant facial volume.

The appropriate treatment depends on what is actually causing the changes you would like to improve.

What is the difference between Sculptra and HArmonyCa?

Both treatments can stimulate collagen, but they use different technologies.

Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid and produces a gradual biostimulatory effect.

HArmonyCa™ combines calcium hydroxyapatite with hyaluronic acid, providing a different combination of immediate support and collagen stimulation.

Your facial anatomy and treatment objectives determine which approach is more appropriate.

Can Sculptra be used under the eyes?

Sculptra is not our primary choice treatment for the delicate under-eye area. At NAR LONDON, under-eye treatment is selected according to the cause of the concern. Options can include PRF and polynucleotides when appropriate.

Can Sculptra improve skin quality?

Sculptra is primarily used for collagen stimulation and structural support rather than as a superficial skin treatment. However, collagen is an important component of skin structure, and clinical studies have reported improvements in measures including dermal thickness and elasticity following PLLA treatment. For patients whose main concern is hydration, pigmentation or superficial texture, another treatment may be more appropriate.

Is there downtime after Sculptra?

Downtime is generally limited, although swelling, redness, tenderness and bruising can occur after treatment.

The initial fullness caused by the fluid used during treatment will also settle. You will receive specific aftercare instructions following your appointment.

Is Sculptra safe?

Sculptra has been used internationally for many years, but no injectable treatment is completely without risk.

Common temporary effects include swelling, redness, tenderness and bruising. Less commonly, small palpable or visible papules or nodules and inflammatory reactions can occur. Other uncommon complications associated with injectable treatments are also possible. Your medical history, suitability and individual risks will be discussed before treatment.

Why Choose NAR LONDON for Sculptra?

NAR LONDON is a Harley Street clinic focused on regenerative aesthetics and natural-looking results. Our approach is not based on treating every sign of ageing with more volume.

We assess what is changing within the face – including skin quality, collagen loss, facial volume and structural support – before recommending treatment.

Because our regenerative treatments include Sculptra, PRF, PRP, polynucleotides, Profhilo® and other approaches, treatment can be selected according to your individual needs rather than applying the same solution to every face.

Sometimes Sculptra will be appropriate. Sometimes another treatment will make more sense.

The objective remains the same:

Regenerate. Restore. Reveal You.
